Naked Vinyl is hosting its third Reggae May Day this Thursday, May 3rd, at Marilynn’s Place! Bring your reggae records, …
Naked Vinyl: City Life
Every city has its own personality, its own character, and many songs have been written about cities. For April’s record party, Naked Vinyl turns its focus to these songs — ones that mention specific cities or that address city life in general. Bring your records that contain such songs to Marilynn’s Place this Thursday night at 7PM. Get a po-boy and a drink, and have fun listening to the hustle and bustle as expressed through music on vinyl!
Naked Vinyl: Time Marches On
Time got away from me and I didn’t post this in a timely manner. For history’s sake:
The year 2012 is almost in its third month, yet it seems like only yesterday when we were ringing in the new year. Time marches on, and Naked Vinyl will be making time to celebrate that cold, sobering concept that heals all wounds and wounds all heels. Bring records that have something to do with time to Marilynn’s Place this Thursday, March 1st, at 7PM. Have some great New Orleans cuisine, and make time for music in its finest medium — vinyl!
Naked Vinyl: New Orleans New Year!
The Naked Vinyl Listening Party will be held at Marilynn’s Place (4041 Fern Ave.) due to ongoing renovations at the usual location. To pair with the New Orleans-style cuisine, the theme will be “New Orleans New Year!”, so bring your records that have a New Orleans or Louisiana connection! Expect to hear jazz, zydeco, funk, and some North Louisiana artists as well. Save room for a po-boy or a big bowl of gumbo!
Starts at 7PM, and all ages are welcome!
Naked Vinyl: Holiday Spectacular! + Toy Drive for the Philadelphia Center
*AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, in conjunction with the Philadelphia Center, this will be a TOY DRIVE for children who are affected by HIV/AIDS. Bring new toys only, please. Make a child’s day this holiday season!
Come to the Centenary Tavern/ Naked Bean Cafe this Thursday, December 1st, at 7PM and enjoy some coffee, order some food, or have a beer!
Naked Vinyl: Edible Audibles
Title: Naked Vinyl: Edible Audibles
Location: Centenary Tavern, 131 E. Kings Hwy., Shreveport, LA
Description: Naked Vinyl Listening Party is dedicating its monthly record party to the culinary arts. Bring records that relate to food — that song about mashed potatoes, that old Meatloaf album your father gave you, you get the idea.
Notice that we will be at a new location, as the Naked Bean Cafe is merging its operations with the soon-to-open Centenary Tavern on 131 E. Kings Hwy., in the old Pieworks building. Come help us show the Centenary Tavern what a Naked Vinyl party is like!
All ages welcome, and it’s free!
Start Time: 7:00 PM
Date: November 3rd, 2011
Naked Vinyl: Monster Mashup, Vol. 3 + Record Swap!
If you love songs about monsters — and I know a lot of you do — then this Naked Vinyl party is the one for you! Thursday, October 6th, Naked Vinyl is hosting Monster Mashup, Vol. 3, so bring records featuring songs about monsters, ghouls, devils, and ghosts. Anything relating to Halloween will do. Your host, Kern Courtney (that’s me), will play whatever records you bring. For those who don’t have records, there’s always plenty in the crate, and you’re welcome to pick what you want to hear. Starts at 7PM, ends at 9:30PM, at Naked Bean Cafe. All ages are welcome!
This show will also be Naked Vinyl’s first-ever RECORD SWAP, so bring some records you’re willing to trade or sell. Whether you’re wanting to shed some weight or add to your collection, this is going to be a great opportunity to meet other vinyl enthusiasts!
Naked Vinyl: Folk Music Hootenanny!
Dust off your folk music records and bring them to to Naked Vinyl this Thursday, September 1st! Folk songs (from any country) are welcome, and so are protest songs. With this show, Naked Vinyl will be celebrating Labor Day, as well as the International Day of Peace later this month. Remember, it’s family-friendly and free!

Naked Vinyl: Off The Wall
Naked Vinyl is getting weird. No, seriously! The theme for this month is Off The Wall, so show off your eccentric side and bring records that are strange, uncommon, or somehow out of the ordinary. It’s ALL AGES, so remember to bring selections that are family-friendly. 33s and 45s (no 78s). This Thursday, Aug. 4th, at 7PM at the Naked Bean Cafe. IT’S FREE!
